Jacques Kallis is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time and among the finest all-rounders to have played the sport. His career spanned over two decades, marked by extraordinary achievements as a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium swing bowler.
Jacques made his Test debut in 1995 and quickly established himself as a formidable force with the bat and ball. He gained international recognition during the drawn Boxing Day Test in Melbourne in 1997, where his gritty century against Australia's bowling attack, including Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne, reflected his ability to thrive under pressure.
Over his illustrious Test career of 166 matches, Jacques amassed a staggering 13,289 runs at an average exceeding 55, placing him among the top three highest run-scorers in Test cricket history. His consistency and ability to score centuries in crucial situations earned him accolades as one of the most reliable batsmen of his era. He also excelled as a bowler, taking 292 wickets with his versatile bowling style, complemented by over 200 catches, showcasing his exceptional fielding skills.
